Decision Consequences Teach the Culture
Every consequential decision signals what the organization protects, what it will trade away, and how candidly people can surface an inconvenient fact.
The problem to solve
A decision right is incomplete when people cannot tell what happens after they use it. If a reasonable decision is reversed privately, or a risk is ignored until it becomes urgent, the organization learns to seek cover rather than exercise judgment.
A practical test
Inspect the last three decisions with material delay, reversal, or escalation.
- Was the owner clear?
- Was the evidence sufficient and available?
- Was the consequence of action or inaction explicit?
- Did leadership explain the exception or merely override the decision?
Practical next actions
Add a short decision review to an existing operating cadence. Focus on the rule the organization learned, not only whether the decision outcome was favorable.
