A 30-Minute Interface Review for the Leadership Team

A short leadership review can create a shared operating picture when it stays close to one workflow, one decision condition, and one bounded next change.

Before the session

Choose one workflow that has shown a meaningful delay, rework pattern, escalation, or customer consequence. Ask participants to bring one observable example and avoid explanations that assign motive or diagnose individuals.

A 30-minute sequence

Keep the review disciplined and evidence-led.

  • Minutes 0–5: state the outcome, triggering event, and expected end state.
  • Minutes 5–12: trace the handoffs, inputs, outputs, and evidence of friction.
  • Minutes 12–18: name the accountable decision owner, necessary contributors, and escalation threshold.
  • Minutes 18–24: identify one assumption to test and one condition most likely to improve flow.
  • Minutes 24–30: agree the next change, accountable owner, and review date.

Errors to avoid

Do not use the session to update every related project, decide a reorganization, or turn an operating gap into a debate about personality. If the evidence points to a broader organizational condition, record that as a hypothesis for the Org Model Diagnostic rather than forcing a conclusion in the room.

Related artifact and pathway

Save the working record in the Organization Blueprint Review and return to it after the test. Use the Cross-Functional Execution Breakdown decision path for the complete 30-day sequence and the paid Org Model Diagnostic when a fuller system view is needed.
